Landpride 72" finish mower was leaving ruts in the yard

Turned out that I bent one of the gauge wheel yokes had bent. The front left.

Went into the local shop to see if they had the Landpride yoke in stock. Of course not. Landpride is one of the more common implement brands, seems to be carried by lots of dealerships. They just don't seem to carry the parts in stock.

I asked if they had 3 other bent ones so I could simply have 4 bent yokes on the deck that all matched. I think the parts guy thought I was serious. Anyway if I wanted one it would be about $100 and take a week or two.

Ordered a new one from Messick's Farm Equipment. Been buying from them for years. Shipping is cheap enough on most goods and fast too. Probably been a customer for 20+ years. 2 days from the day I ordered the part to the day I tested it out. With shipping at $100. And that included 5 other small parts I added to the order (nuts with plastic knobs to hold down the belt covers, I lose those periodically due to vibration so I ordered some extras) .

New yoke arrived today. Would have been a 15 minute job to take off the old one, disassemble the wheel/axel from the yoke, and then reassemble and install . . . until I dropped my ratchet driver set and sent all the pieces and parts of the set bouncing about the cement garage/shop floor.

About an hour later I was out in the yard mowing and not cutting ruts!

Always good when a repair works out.
