Hi, I just started to restore a 1966 Imp 1404. I pull the diff. Gears look to have wear marks. Does anyone rebuild these ? Can you gears be sourced anywhere ?

I am sure I will have engine questions as well. I have come across a few of the well known websites selling some parts.

I found a new-ish rear diff. So that prob is solved. Dan at Snow Cat Service will have a new carb for the engine. I think I am set. New poly filled boggie wheels coming to be from Fallline in Reno. I think I have the main parts issues solved.

Good find! Though I don't need one, sure wish I knew where to look just in case. Its the only thing on these machines that's a show stopper. When I pulled my diff. apart to fix an error the last guy did, my gears looked really good.

Looking good. Is that a round pipe in the frame cross piece.

I need to go look at mine its different

I run a 1404 with wide tracks. Consumption is a little less than 2 gals per hour. When run my summer tracks it goes down to about a gallon per hour. But im on gravel then.

If the snow really deep and not very moist. I have recorded 4 gallons per hour as im heavy on the thottle
