Jon boat on the great loop

He was trying to break the record time but he ran into some weather one day and then discovered hull damage which required welding. I don't think he's breaking the record.

He blamed or ttook ownership of Falling asleep and beaching in north carolina. (As the reason for the crack) They unloaded the boat to pull it back into the water.

He has a fantastic resume' and is out doing some of his personal accomplishments.

Im fascinated by his confidence and skill set.
Many years ago i observed wave runners jumping the wake created by the S.S. Badger (car ferry on lake mi) they stayed with us for 20 miles or so. I set into motion a plan to take jet ski's the full 70+ miles across the lake. We chickened out after not coming up with a viable fueling plan.

This guy is alone in his jon boat and is pushing 1000"s of miles.

Im in awe

Made his move away from the michigan shoreline. Literally in the middle of a really big, deep lake. He will enjoy chicago in few hours.

The guy really did some preparation work ahead of this trip. Some of it is outlined in this video.

The record is unlikely due to some long lock portages.... but he is now south of Tennessee.

Out into the gulf at mobile. I have learned a lot about the various north to south waterways in america.

beat the single engine solo record by 6 hrs. solo. single engine. at one point 60 miles off shore in the Atlantic ocean. crossed lake michigan right down the middle.

kind of a neat quote of his near the chaotic end in florida. If you don't have a goal that is impossible. Get one!

Holy shit.

If your not a face book whore. This is an interview of the single engine. solo record holder for a 6000 nautical mile great loop completer.

When asked whats next.... stated rum and coke in the bahamas. Its not quite dr pepper and rum but clise enough. #bigaljinsight
