Imp tires?

dmckewin

New member
Howdy everybody,
Can anyone tell me where the best place is to pick up some new tires and rims for my Imp?
Thanks, Dan

If you are in the anchorage area take your tire size to phelps tire and they should be able to get you an implament tire for it if your tires are like a 5.00 x15 i have 2 like new tires i stripped off my snow trac when i restored the suspension i'll ship them to you freight collect

Thanks dds,
I may take you up on the offer. Do you know if there are any differences between track vehicle tires and anything I could pick up from Phelps Tire? I'm new to this track vehicle stuff and need all the help I can get. What about Rims, did you replace them on your Snow Trac? I've found a few places via the internet that sell both and am seeeking opinions from other forum members as to thier reliability.

my tires were mounted on vw rims so hey wont do you much good ive seen the same tires but 16 inchers on nodwells so i suspect that the fact that they are a rib tread wont hurt most tracked vehicle road wheels are treadless because its not necessary but a highway tread or steering tread wont affect preformance i think a stiff bias ply side wall is more important

I got my tires at 6 Robblees in Wasilla. I believe that takes an 4.80-8 trailer tire. The original Imp rims have an integral hub- I'm not sure if you can buy them anymore. One of the rims on my Imp is a hub with a bolt on rim, but it was on it when I bought it so I don't know where it came from. Let me know if you must have a rim- I'd be happy to help figure out the rim/hub set-up. In fact, I have been thinking about changing all mine to this set-up. I'm in Palmer, so PM me if I can help.
