If the federal government defaults & shuts down are you ready? I have enough ammo. & cat food and tortillas and beans to last awhile how about the rest of you? :shifty:

The government won't default, but a lot of government programs will have to be shut down,i think it may have come down to this to get our government to actually get our debt and interest and spending figured out. it will hurt every one but we will survive with help from family and community, Real Americans will step up and help when they are needed.we always have:biggrin:

We have enough food for a couple of weeks, and plenty of ammo. However, the people we owe money
(mortgage, etc.) are not going to be happy; a good bit of my money won't be there. I guess I'm just another
parasite feeding at the government tit, even though I thought I had earned that money by nearly 40 years of service
to the country, including the sacrifice of some unneeded (??) body parts. But now I discover these funds are
in the same category as that paid to welfare cheats.

Who knew?

Don't worry I solved it!

If you can, why not pay a month or 2 ahead on the mortgage and such. With the exception of the credit card, I keep a month or 2 ahead on things.

Good idea, I always pay more each month on the notes I have. Mortgage is about 20% more each month and 60% on a auto loan I have. The mortgage over payment buys me no time, so maybe I should make extra payments instead.

AFA the auto loan, they keep sending us notices that we don't need to make a payment until April of next year (I assume they want us to slow down so they can receive more interest). At our current rate it will be paid off in December.

Everything is paid but the taxes. They will come out this month for school taxes. They don't allow partial payments so they would just have to wait! If they screw with my social security they will need a few more reps in Washington!
