was 82 earlier. & then begins the plunge into colder weather. they say we'll get a plethora of snow this year. elderly bar-owner was already fretfully searchin' fer her snow shovel through the entire bar, basement of the bar, etc., as we're due quite a storm very soon....... so they say. i read/watched several weather indicators- i see nada indication of snow, 'cept fer 1 on tv. it's gorgeous as yet. it's PA, tho. we jus' wait sometimes to see.
miss wintery weather, & would luv to see it this season.
we'll see on that snow. it's supposed to pour flakes worse than a cheaply-filmed dandruff shampoo ad. meh, i've my wellies & coats. maybe i'll get to use 'em soon, eh~
 
Depending on the temps we could get a big one out of this. I put the plow on the truck to move it the other day. Going to just leave it for now. Want to run my generator tomorrow as they expect a lot of power outages. Going to fill up gas cans as well. I always have 10 gallons of premium on hand just for it but like to have 20 gallons if it goes out for a long time.
 
we'll see, muley. im'ma get a shovel & get a few of the guys to clean a spot fer ppl that visit me if i hafta. my salt's waitin'. may also borrow cones to secure a place fer a vehicle intended fer my place (they lend 'em @ a few places). there's a few newbies here that have not yet gotten that we respect ea. other on this block- thus we shant take others' spaces, so meticulously shovelled & clean.

my Mom stays stylish in her knee-hi, hi-heeled boots half the year so avoiding ice/snow is essential 4 her. she's supposed to visit soon. i'm taking precautions, from salt to cones, if i see so much as a few flakes.
 
One model shows this storm pushing as far west as Chicago. They all show rain/snow over us. If the cold gets here first it will be interesting. Have to haul cows Sunday morning so I hope it takes it's time. Bad part for folks along the coast is the lunar high tide hits at the same time as the surge.

No, I don't imagine it would be. Please forgive me Luvs for a quick hijack, but what does it cost to have them butchered and packaged? Is it by the pound or by the animal?
 
Kill is $50. The rest of the processing is by the hanging weight. Can't remember exactly what the price per lb. is. They hang them at least 10 days and all meat is vacuum packed and labeled. They cure my pork for me also. I am not real fond of their 2 kinds of sausage they make so we usually do our own. Would like to get some dried beef made this time.
 
It got up to 80 here today.
The big chill will be here come Sunday.
Freezing temps Monday and Tuesday night.
