The earth goes through a cyclic pattern of heating and cooling but the cycles are eons long in duration.
Alarmists look at the trending temps of Recorded weather and temp. And think its gospel.
They do not look at geological evidence because its " too sketchy to rely on"
So of course when you look at the recorded temperature charts all you will see is a warming trend.

Certainly different infomation has a different usefulness. Geology isn't very helpful for predicting next weeks weather for example.

Personally I like Dan Britt and an open mind as a starting point for considering inevitable climate change.

Just for perhaps some context, at one point he makes the comment that it's a rare thing in the history of the planet to have surface ice at all.

Or ........ you know, one can just resort to muscular science 😉
