At school where they beat the crap out of him and stole his lunch money. ORRRR where the parents let him get that cut ORRRRR where the parent MADE him get that cut. Anyhew, I was in jest sir.
 
As a former foster parent I take suggestions of child abuse seriously. I don't see the "jest" in this post.

I think youre missing the point of the post. Its supposed to be amusing. Ya see, REAL child abuse is NOT amusing. But the kids haircut is sooooooooo bad, that it IS amusing. Its sooooooo bad that I named the.........

nevermind. If you find THIS post offensive then there isnt a damn thing I can say to you to understand.

This was posted in "Open Forum". If it is in jest and amusing it should have been in the "Jokes" section. And nowhere did you post a smiley or other such notice that it is/was "amusing".


Child abuse is having a eight year old foster daughter that was kidnapped, raped, sodomized and otherwise abused in the sleeper of a semi for a week.

Child abuse is having four foster children aged 4 -10 that aren't "potty-trained" and sleep in wet/dirty underwear every night. Of course, the urine and feces was dried by the next night. And, they didn't know what the white liquid in their glass at breakfast was (milk). Mom was a prostitute.

Child abuse is a four year old boy that is more nimble than a monkey and is used by his "mother" to climb up to the top of the fridge to get "grandma's" prescription drugs while not having a meal for two weeks.

Child abuse is a three year old girl that has been raped by her step dad for a month.

These are a small sample of the 62 foster children we had when we were foster parents. They aren't the worst cases either.

Child abuse is not a bad haircut.

Of all the members of this forum I have gotten to know, all are intelligent, capable people who know the difference between the more humorous tone Sushi's using, and the terrible things you mentioned in your latest post. I understand your sensitivity to the term Child Abuse
I'm going to get personal for a moment. My step son shot himself to death eleven years ago, come August 14. The word Suicide strikes a painful chord inside of me each time I hear it. However, I'm capable of understanding the context. If someone uses that word in a joke, I don't let it bother me because the joke isn't about my step son, his mother, or me. It's just a joke.
In this case, Sushi isn't making light of the types of child abuse you have seen. He's making a gosh-darned joke!!!!:hammer: Get it?
Okay, now lighten up and have a chuckle.

Monte your personal experiences make a very good point indeed and im sorry you needed to bring it in to make a point...yet a very valid point,humor comes from all walks of life and i for one have had my fair share of blows in life and yet understand jokes come and go and for sure if i stirred by everything posted i would go insane.

Kwiens i understand fully and respect what you do and why 100%...but please take it for the joke it is intended.

So then in the 'open' forum we put.....serious stuff? Oh, no, no, no...there's a 'serious' section for that. I know, we debate in the 'open' forum. Ah rats, we have a 'debate and discussion' section. Ok, ok, how about we introduce ourselves in the 'open' forum. Arrg! We have an 'introduction' forum you say?!?! Sheesh, what's left? Maybe we should just leave it, ummm....'open'? Yeah, that's it. Let's leave it open and we'll all know that you can find just about anything here! Woohoo, great idea I have there!!! :clap:

Ok, so maybe I'm not the ultimate authority on what should be fenced into the open forum. Maybe Kwiens will enlighten us as to the limits of the open forum, as he sees it. :rolleyes: :poke: I don't mean to jump on you, but some of us have had experiences similar to what you described, yet we can lighten up a bit. Most of us are here for fun and sharing of information. When we want to get into the heavy stuff, we meander on over to the 'seriously speaking' forum.

Good post, TNuts. Gotta spread some, so first person to give TNuts reps and tells me about it gets reps from me..
