Can't catch a drop of rain!

muleman

Gone But Not Forgotten
Forecast was for hard storms and heavy rain this morning. I did not water and have been concentrating on weeding waiting for the rain. Just checked the radar and it all missed us again. Other areas east of us have flash flood warnings and not a drop here. Guess I will weed and then turn the sprinklers on later. At least it is cloudy and cooler.

Welcome to my world . I think we are the only people in the whole state that aint had no rain . It can be headed straight for us and is dicipates right before reaching us . So damn close I can smell it .

I went out earlly and sprayed all of the weeds in what is supposed to be a pond and its as dry as a bone . :hammer:

We are only at 82 but very muggy. I am calling it a day with the weeding. this dry stuff is sure putting a hurt on the hay coming back. The corn is showing signs of curling and will be in a bad way if we don't get rain soon.

Its right at a 100 here right now and there aint a breath of air out . I worked through the heat of the day yesterday but mainlly in the shade and a real nice breeze . Having all the sprinklers going helps a lot too if your not in the direct son . So far I'm able to keep everything on the front 2 acres nice and green but I dont know how much longer my wells are gonna holdout running 24/7 .

I just took a couple of pics of the neighbors corn fields that border our property. One feild is irrigated and the other aint . It aint lookin to good for either crop .

We finally got a shower while I was digging a trench out back. Had to quick put things away and run inside.
The storms have been missing us for the past 3 weeks or more. While it is nice to get dry hay in we need rain badly. After the wettest spring in 30 years we went the other way to bone dry. We got about 1/4 inch and hope to get some more this evening. The heavy rain missed us again this morning. Everything around here is brown and crops are starting to really suffer. If I was not irrigating the garden it would be dead. Even the dandelions are brown.
