Can you imagine...?

Dargo

Like a bad penny...
This video clip is from our local news and is about my oldest daughter's boyfriend. They have been "dating" (although their only "dates" have been to movies) for about 3 years now. Anyway, her boyfriend, Jonathan, has been a perfectly healthy 15 year old 6'2" 200 pound, well mannered, kid who has been working hard to make varsity on their football team; which is undefeated and ranked #2 in the state (I think, maybe #1).

Anyway, I can't post the printed story since you have to sign in to read that, but I think I can post the video link. At 15 years old he had a stroke. By the end of the day he'd lost all movement on his right side and couldn't speak more than 3 mumbled words at a time. He is progressing extremely well. In the video, my daughter is the girl with dark hair wearing a dark blue #55 football jersey standing with him when he is at last week's football game in his wheelchair. Here's an attempt to post the video 15 year old stroke victim

Unbelievable. He appears to be getting much better from the 1st therapy they showed him doing. Is there hope for a full recovery. Any idea of the cause of the stroke?

Oh, that's part of the written article that I neglected to mention. His physician, forgot her name, said that she had never in her medical career or in her research seen a person at his age with no other symptoms, underlying medical issues or any other reasons, suffer a stroke. They hope/expect him to eventually make a full recovery after much PT. I think if bothers him and his family a bit because nobody knows what caused the stroke; and if it could ever happen again.

Brent,
Who knows why those things happen. But it could be something as silly as an old injury or bruise, which allowed a blood clot to form. Traveling to the right area and there ya go.
I wish him all the best.
