Bowflex home gym

That is exactly what happened to the one my folks bought:biggrin:,but if you have some extra space they are great, you have to have a dedicated space for one,Ive used one and they will get your heart rate up,or you can get winded just moving it around the house when you want a work out:yum::yum::yum:

seriously though.. they are good machines:wink: sounds like a good price.

You would be amazed at how many we sell of bowflex and other exercise equipment rigs in our spaces over a year. People buy these thing then soon tire of them is the problem.

Home exercise equipment = waste of money.

Take the money that you would spend on this and buy a membership to a gym. Better equipment, trainers to help you, no wasted space taken up in your home and (for me at least) more difficult to procrastinate or ignore the routine.

I pulled the trigger. Brand spankin new unit, $500 shipped. I checked other new and used prices and the lowest I was finding was in the $650 range + shipping.

Larry, I disagree on the home exercise equipment thing. I use my treadmill pretty regularly, but I need to restore some upper body and core strength that I've been losing over the years. Heck, a 1 year gym membership is more than $500. And the last thing I need right now is some hulkamaniac personal trainer looking at my current state of deconditioning and quietly chuckling to himself.

Sorry to be late, but as a former professional trainer and competitive lifter, I am not big on Bowflex equipment at all. The only thing they make that is worth getting is their selectable weight dumbells with the matching stand and possibly the bench that goes with it. Otherwise, I've used everything they make and I have zero use for it.

I have a complete free weight gym in my basement along with commercial elliptical machines and Gauntlet stepmill machines. I have complete sets of Olympic bars, weights barbells and even a complete set of kettlebells. After using that equipment, I can see why people sell their Bowflex stuff at yard sales or leave them to be auctioned off in storage units. Sorry to sound so down on them, but having lifted seriously for 30 years, I rank them along with the thigh master. :flowers:

I beg to differ on the gym membership, I pay 4.95 a month at Any Time Fitness provided I use it 12 days a month after $20 reimbursement from BCBS. For some reason they gave me the senior rate.:whistling:

push ups against the good old earth (or your floor)
pull ups on a tree limb (or on a bar in the door frame)
crunches on the bar in the door frame (or on the tree limb)

After fully using this machine for a week, I can say that I'm impressed so far. It took a few routines to figure out how much "weight" I should use for each exercise, but once I got to that point, I'm very pleased with it.

The resistance rod design is very nice and smooth. After each exercise, that specific muscle group feels fatigued, but not overworked. I've never felt too sore the next day, just a little tight, and when I do the next day's workout, I can still feel the slight tightness from the previous workout.

It's incredibly easy to swap the set up from one exercise to another, and overall, I'm very glad I bought the Bowflex.

Sounds like you are on your way to getting ripped for the ladies! Daily routines are a good idea rather than overdoing it a few times a week.
