Big rains making a mess of things.

Gone But Not Forgotten
We did fairly well till yesterday. Had a pair of gully washer type rains in a 3 hour span. Glad I had rebuilt my water breakers in my lane last week. It washed some ruts in between them and even up here by the house on the flat areas there are ruts washed in my lane. The town roads have similar issues and all the creeks and rivers are filled with muddy water and running at bank full levels. The 2 big flood control reservoirs are filling up fast and it it still raining. Folks 30 miles east of here are being evacuated and many roads are closed. The rest of this week looks to be more rain and storms off and on.

Spent yesterday dragging branches (and whole trees) that were downed by the heavy winds that came with the storm. Hauled them out to the field and stacked them on the burn pile. Lost a big mulberry tree, whole thing snapped just above the ground, probably about 40' tall and just as wide across.

I'm guessing that the storms you got are the same ones that went through our area several days ago.

Pretty soupy here as well (but I guess that's expected since I live between the 2 of you).

There were a couple rains where we were 2-3" in an hour but luckily it was only one of those hard rains per day so the creek is keeping up.

Wife came back from Corning and you can see where the straight line winds leveled corn crops and uprooted trees everywhere. I only went down the hill and changed some smoke detectors for a lady so have not been out much today. Still raining.:hammer:

That sucks about the crops and trees.

It was wet this morning but it's been sunny the last couple hours. Nice little pocket of sunshine. Rain from Ohio is staying there.

it's just been a steady rain since Friday with a few good frog stranglers in between rivers are running high and the storm surge has most of the beach covered

God is trying to purge NY of the communists using floods and torrents. Seek high ground and you will be spared.

1980 ft. elevation. If it floods up here there sure won't be much left for hundreds of miles. Now when the meteor hits lake Erie I know some folks in a world of sh*t!:yum:

At 632 ft. I'll be one of the first to go.:yum:

The bottom ground grows some good crops but some years it all gets drowned or laid over. I will stay up on the hill and deal with the wind.

Constant rain to continue today. Low lying areas have street flooding and farmers are taking a beating. Some of the best producing fields are submerged and it won't be going away soon. As long as the west bakes we are stuck in this tropical rain funnel rolling up the east coast and dumping on the hills.:hammer:

Doesn't look like it's going to be a bad day Muley. At least for now, the radar is clear.

We had a few hours of dry. Then as soon as I took the batteries back out to may backhoe it rained like hell. Will have to wait till Thursday to put them back in.:hammer:
