So can someone educate me on belt construction? 3/16 belting is a belt that has a 3/16" 2 or 3 ply carcass with say a 1/8" top and bottom cover then the true belt thickness is 7/16", right, maybe???

I asked the question at a local belt supplier,

Depending upon when you purchased the belting and the snow cat. Goodyear old designation was 3ply Plylon 330 3/16 top cover b 1/16” bottom. If you were replacing the belting you should be asking for Goodyear Plylon Plus 3ply with a 2/16 top cover by 1/16” bottom cover. Some time due to availability ¼” top cover is ok to use.
