Mainer,

I'm wondering if this is a fake, based on the minimal description the seller has provided. Could you go to eBay and ask a bunch of questions pertinent to a 601 for us? Prospective buyers would have real information. . .

OK guys n' gals. It's the real deal and more photos will be coming.
They want to ge $15K as they paid north of $10K several years ago (!).
Wild. Anyway, I gave news that it was over priced considerably but not sure how that went over. I think they're going to ride it out and see. This reminds me of that orange one listed on eBay a few weeks ago for $19,500 (the one with the injected 300 engine). Basically it sounds like people have sunk cash into these either buying too high or paying a mechanic phat cash and they want to recoup their investment while making a bit of cash. That $19,500 owner decided to just hang onto it because he'd rather just look at it than take a loss.

Mainer,

Here's where part of his inflation comes from: California. That machine is in California. Everything in California is simply more expensive, like in Switzerland. Ever been there? It's as if the whole country is a giant cartel - they meet annually to set high prices that people cannot afford. The same thing seems to happen in California!

It's a real problem in this state, and it's not a place to be running a business anymore. For the longest time wages were increasing high due to cost of living (housing). Now that the market has collapsed and we have foreclosures everywhere the wages need to come down, along with everything else (this 601, too). California needs its own market correction. We need to let the mortgage crisis run its course so housing prices can go lower. That's part of the key to lowering all other costs to what they should be.

This place is getting crowded, regulated, and stays too expensive. There's a lot to like here, but just as much to dislike.

I never been able to walk by any of the snowcats I've owned (6) without $100 bills being sucked out of my wallet. Some I've sold for top dollar but never for what I had into them. Snowcats absorb money faster than teenage girls and I have two of those.

OK, so am I bidding against someone here, hmmmm?

Absolutely! But I may consider submitting so that you can do a side-by-side vintage taste-test: Kristi-to-601. Cabarnet or box-o-wine. ;)

:yum: I was kinda thinking the same thing. I'd have two '63s, one the ultimate expression of snow transportation engineering, the other a big square box with attitude!

BP-- OK, so it's yours to get... I actually didn't know you were initially bidding on it or I wouldn't have gotten involved. Anyway, I'll PM you with a couple ideas.

Bob---good luck tonight...it's getting there... may the force be with you to own that 601!

And now..........

we wait.

Just call him up and buy it. does not look like a bad rig........ come on Bob you can't take it with you....... orange would look good on you .....make us all proud ........... See I'm good at spending your money......... or If you really can not buy it and with Mainer's permission We have another one or two or three you can buy....... now Mainer.... I was only holding out a little..... you know about two....:yum: :yum:

Hey! What gives! You know I'm in hoard mode! What's this hold-out crap! Gimme! "Boggie, send out the 601's...the Mainers have your MN-Outdoor warehouse fully surround and all escape vehicles have been rendered useless. We've placed a small matchbox of a Kristi on each driver seat so you dare not try to escape. Now, we'll throw over a winch line...first send out the Ghost! That hurt the most!" ;)
OK, now I'm going to have to call upon the sixth-tenth senses one more time... there will need to be wiji boards involved....incense... OC-15 mockups with voodoo pins... ;)
So, come on... drop some photos on us. I knew you were holding out! Hurry so at lease Bob can see if he should buy this Cali rig that didn't sell on eBay...

Ok, Mainer here is a little sneak peak :yum:

Looks like nice work... I like the protective pan approach ... and additional strengthening of frame ... but hmmmmm... that makes me think I'm smelling...<sniff-sniff>... hunting rig!!!!! ?????? Hmmm... that case looks like there's a wee-bit of camo-paint on it ... I think I'm smelling more moose on it!?!? How about some original pre-boggie shots!? Didn't your girl friends tell you to skip the foreplay???? ;)

Ditto... the guy said he is going to either repost it or post it elsewhere... let's synch up and collaborate to close this for you! You need to stop serving your guests that boxed wine (albeit fiberglass tub rather than cardboard box) and get onto the good stuff! :yum: :bonk: :pat: They'll all want to come ride in your new 601! Serve some nice cabarnet in the back with all that space for guests and festivities! :boobies:
