Centerville, N.Y. —
The two Amish men accused of sexual misconduct entered not guilty pleas Thursday night in Centerville town court.
Amos E. Girod, 23, and Mahol D. Miller, 22, both of Centerville, are each charged with misdemeanor sexual misconduct with an animal or deceased human body.
Amity-based state police said each incident was allegedly with a horse and reportedly took place on each man’s family farm.
“We did have a court arraignment,” said Fillmore attorney David Pullen, who represented Girod and Miller. “There were released on their own recognizance.
No one from the Allegany County District Attorney’s Office was there for the arraignment before Judge Luke Heitzman.
“The first real appearance for both sides will be Aug. 4. Matters were scheduled for the first court date in August,” said Pullen.
A group of Amish stood in front of the Centerville Town Hall and talked.
“There was support from the local Amish community,” Pullen said. However, he said, none of them had anything to say publicly about the cases.
SPCA officials Tuesday said there were several horses at each farm and they were consulting to see if the horses should be taken away, and if so, which ones.

They need to look for the horses with a smile on their face.:w00t2:

Wisconsin boys like dead deer on the sire of the road. At least two in so many years.
