Allmans 40 years in the business

Durwood RIP

Gone But Not Forgotten
Yep, the Allman brothers celebrated 40 years this past March. Every year they take over the Beacon in New York the month of March for several shows. They played 15 shows this year in memory of the guy who started them Duane Allman. They had guests most every night who included people Duane and also the band had played with thu the years. It was an all star show with Eric Clapton and many others. I'm gonna put up some of the videos that i really have liked. This one has Bily Gibbons of ZZ Top doing "Jesus just left chicago". What is cool about it is when he came onstage the whole band was wearing long beards and shades like him. I think it caught him off guard. I gotta find levon Helms of "the band" who performs "The weight" and a real good moving song called "I shall be released" plus old Pinetop, an old blues piano player in his nineties still playing and singing. I have lived on youtube the last few days watching this stuff. They say every night was between 3 and 4 hours long. They are gonna come out with all 15 shows on dvd for about $500.00 so hurry up. Operators are standing by. lol
