400 series pontoon questions

Took one of my pontoons off to replace the seals that were leaking badly. First thing I noticed was the castellated nut was very easy to take off once i took the cotter pin out.
What is the torque spec on the nut?
Second, while i have it off should i repair the bottom shoe? It looks like its getting pretty thin compared to the top. Whats the technique for refreshing these? What grade of steel?
Thank You.

'davenet' is the current expert on pontoons

though I will give it a go, the axle nut needs to be tight, tight tight, and the bottom shoe is steel smooth times stainless steel either way, if there is cracks breaks rips in the shoe, it will get tangled up with the grousers and make a very big mess of things, new shoes are the preferred answer and anything less will require constant attention/inspection.

the shoe must be a tight fit to the pontoon with no gaps on the leading edge, the lower edge is a capture rail to keep the grouser from snagging on the bottom of the toon, it is made of thinner material than the rails, the tracks need to be tight on the pontoon with less than 1/4 gap between roller and rail when checked for track tightness, absolutely do not want the track going on the bottom side of the capture rail at anytime.
