Since Y2K, the Mayan “prediction” that the world will end in 2012 has undeniably become the most popular apocalypse theory in recent years (sorry Harold Camping). Though no one seems to be sure what exactly will happen — theories range from an alien invasion to a devastating pole shift — many are convinced that because the Mayan calendar “ends” on December 21st, 2012, the world itself will end.
A quick Google search of “2012” reveals an astonishing number of websites, each determined to teach you how to “weather the storm.” One website, Survival Guide 2012, notes there are several theories out there, including the “Bee Death Theory,” the “Monetary Collapse Theory,” and “Super Volcano Theory.”
Worried? Well, according to NASA you shouldn’t be. The agency has just come out with a devastating video that calmly rebuffs any such scenario, even explaining the “end” of the Mayan calendar. Watch it, below:
