THIOKOL IMP

Yeah...orange. Duh!
I have yet to discover the exact color code, have asked and searched the same question. There are some close matches that some people use if you take the time to search this forum.
I will be painting mine in the next few weeks and really don't give a tinkers damn about originality (since I've already sanded off three layers...OEM orange, blue, then black) and will be going with cobalt blue urethane over epoxy primer. Just waiting for the weather to cool down a bit, and a calm day since I'll be squirting it outside.

I used Rustoleum "Real Orange" from Home Depot on the cat in 2013. Looks good and holds up well. I painted a 1990 Geo Tracker with Krylon flat desert camo from Wal Mart in 2005 over metalic black. It's never blistered or peeled in 19 years. Even after being pressure washed dozens of times and driving through the brush.

Rattle can vs commercial automotive paint? I didn't know that Home Depot had anything but spray cans.
I went the whole 9 yards and purchased epoxy primer with hardener, and urethane color with hardener. Cost an arm and a leg and only the third time I've painted a vehicle. But it's bullet proof paint as long as I don't smack into a tree or something.

Paint for the cat was about $50 (rattle cans) including about 4 spare cans (all orange) in 2013. I've had to touch things up a few times when I modified this or that, but It's held up fine for 11 years. It's an aluminum body though.

The car was about $35 in 2005 including a spare can of each color at Wal Mart. I painted it a panel at a time every morning when I was working swing shift then drove it to work. It was done in a week. Haven't touched it since. But it was painted over the original metallic black (scotch brighted) which was still sound. I had to replace a front fender and grill when I bought the car. They were in primer. I suck at painting (especially metallic) so I just freehanded the whole thing in Krylon flat desert camo. Never regretted it. It's a fun car.

Both are stored inside so that helps.

Allis Chalmers orange, Kubota orange, both about the same and very close match to undisturbed original paint. Hemi orange if you're looking at TC Global single stage urethane which is what the wheel hubs are. 1404 is shot with Allis Chalmers single stage from NAPA.
