KBS ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ that aired in 2010 based off a novel by Jung Eun Kwon has been nominated for 2012 New York TV (NY TV) Festival in Mini-Series category.
The percantage of woman viewers of this particular drama alone was 10%, which is double the male average who watch television dramas. The local media reported it's due to development of the storyline, as well as handsome male actors that included JYJ's Park Yoochun, Yoo Ah In, Song Joong Ki and more.
The drama was a hit garnering international attention and it has won number of awards at the 2011 Seoul Drama Awards. This drama certainly helps expand the hallyu waves across the globe; it's scheduled to be broadcasted by ABS-CBN, a Philippine broadcast company in 2012.
The award result will be announced a month later in March while the award ceremony is to take place on April 17 at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
