Picked up another project

Started the injector lines on, they actually fit, nice surprise.
Second picture is the killer dowel pin, 12 valves are famous for that pin vibrating out and killing the engine.
The 24 valve obviously suffers from the same pin, but is not a big of a problem due to less vibration in the 24 valve, but why take a chance for a simple fix when I’m already in there.

Today I torqued the injector hold down bolts, then the rocker arm assemblies with my new HP push rods, the OE ones are .375 the new ones are .475, thicker and made from chromoly. Still have to set the valve lash, then the top is done.
 
Couple weeks ago the correct oil pick up tube showed up, I was busy cutting down the grass on the property, then had to put brakes on the wife’s car and the rear end went out on my Nissan. So yesterday I took a little time and installed the pick up tube and pan on the 24 valve. I can finish putting the front cover on, but that’s about it. It as far as I can go until I buy the 60/64 aggressor turbo I want for it to make the 600 wheel horsepower I’m looking for and I don’t want to buy the turbo until I’m going to use it or it will just sit there with the warranty running out. I think I’m going to rob the HX 35 that’s on it now and put it on my first gen. Cummins truck to match the Extra fuel I’m going to throw at it soon. I’ll start a thread on that too. How to modify an VE injection pump for more hp. They won’t make what a P pump will but they will make 400-450hp without a lot of effort. Problem with the first get is the engine is stout but the transmissions are not, unless you throw money at them.
