Thinking about a Pertronics ignition including their special wires and hot coil for the 100E Undercover Kitten. And a spare in the glove box just in case. Si o no?

I'm putting one in my kitten along with a spare. but mine has a datsun motor in it. pertronics is good but i haven't used a single after market ignition that hasn't failed. Gen 1 if you left the key on with out running had a very high chance of burning out

had a gen 1 burn out on a Bombardier Skidozer Ford when left on. Replaced with gen ll and problem solved. I wondered what became of the Datsun Kitten.

I use Gen 2 on my Imp. No worries about burning it out if you leave the key on.
Only one season so far and no problems. Also bought their coil to go with it.

I only use points in my vw's. One day I might try the Petronics. But with a couple hundred thousand miles driving all over the place, I have always made it to where I wanted to go. I can adjust them or replace them in a couple minutes. I'd think with a snowcat and the amount and miles it's actually used, a good set of points will most likely last a lifetime.

Good "points". I went Pertronix just because I could, set-and-forget mentality. Of course if it were to take a dump on me at the most inopportune location then I would be livid. I keep the points and .016 feeler gauge stored in a baggie just in case.
