I was Task force Leader on a fire once where we supplied (from the river) a dip tank to fill buckets that were shuttled up the mountain to another tank that we pumped out of to fight the fire . Otherwise it was going to be 3000 ft of hose and at least 3 pumps along the way. Overnight it was a 20 mile road trip (about an hour each way avg) to keep the water flowing.
Thats a load. And all at once.
