LEARNING TO PLAY GUITAR.

Galvatron

Spock and Galvatron < one and the same
My 15 yr old son as has gone down the line of learning to play guitar...we got him an acoustic for his birthday a little over a month ago and he has out of his own cash invested in a electric guitar too......he as picked up on the chords and gets tabs and reads sheet music no problems and really loves playing.

My question to you good folk is do you know of any good links to assist him in his quest.

ain't it great when your kids want to learn instead of going out and getting into trouble.

Kimi.

That's about the same age I started playing. Is he taking lessons with anyone? I did that for a year or so, then played along with other guys. It's allot easier to learn some of the songs by watching someone else doing it and learning new techniques etc.....

He is getting lessons from his Uncle that's a very good player....and funny you say about watching as he says he learns more watching his uncle than he does being shown.

There are some great sources to learn over the Internet and they are free. There are plenty of people teaching Guitar for beginners on YouTube, and if you have iTunes, there are plenty of Podcasts which you can learn from. Good Luck!
Try not to waste your money buying DVDs and learning things, people sell those just to take your money. Learning guitar could be really easy for free. As soon as you learn all the basic chords, you can play pretty much any song you want. Make sure you Practice, Practice, and, Practice.
