Importing a Snowcat

What is typically required to import a snowcat from Canada into the US? What kind of paperwork needs to be shown at the border? I’m sure a number of folks have done it, so I’m hoping to tap that wealth of knowledge. Thanks!

If it was manufactured and sold in the US, and EPA sticker seems to be an issue depending on the age. I'm buying a 966 cat loader from Canada and since it was originally bought from the states the shipper just needs a bill of sale and lading.

I've imported quite a few cars (most of them grey-market) from Canada to the US, but never a snowcat or other type of vehicle. I believe EPA form 3520-21 is applicable. Though it doesn't specify over-snow vehicles (other than snowmobiles) or tracked vehicles, I would guess they would fall under one of the categories laid out in the form. Depending on the age the engine will be exempt from the EPA requirements, and if the country of manufacture is the USA or Canada it should be exempt from tariff as well. My recommendation would be to call your local CBP office and ask what the relevant forms are. If it is an older (21+ years old) US manufactured snowcat you should be able to show up at the border with it, fill out some forms and be on your way. Make sure you have all applicable proof of ownership documents like a bill of sale.
