Just wondering about this as they are fun to drive, fast and handle well. I now have 3 of them and hope to restore all of them eventually.

1988 535is 5 speed
1989 325i 5 speed
1987 325is automatic

I don't collect, but I've owned a few. Great cars... built like a tank but handle like a ??? (word escapes me) but something about a ballerina (sp)
 
Had a 525i German spec. when I was stationed in Germany. Nice reliable, fast, and as already mentioned handled well. I sold it when I bought the Audi 200 turbo.
