2007 Pontiac Grand Prix remote start

Normally I'm pretty good with this kind of stuff, but this one is kicking my butt.

I've got a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GT for a rental wreck out here in east coast hell. It has the remote start feature and it is enabled on the dash computer control.

How do you make the car start? Little help here... :bonk:

I press the (squiggly arrow) button on the remote and the lights blink, but no start. Does the alarm have to be set? Not set? Do I need to set the parking brake or something stupid like that?

If it was a diesel there wouldn't be any problems like this....

You have to push the door lock button on the remote first (even if the doors are already locked), then push the remote start button for two seconds.

(I don't have a Grand Prix, but I'm assuming it works the same for all GM cars with factory remote start)

Thanks Andy!

Did it work? :17875:

Knowing GM, it wouldn't surprise me if they spent the money to change how it works from year to year, or make the way it works different from Chevrolets to Pontiacs, so it wouldn't surprise me if yours operated differently.

(Do I get any points? I finally broke 100)
