WiFi extender recommendations

Not sure if our WiFi router is getting old but we're having signal problems.
Installed some TP-Link extenders and have had initial luck getting better signals but they seemed to have pooped out. Not sure of their quality. :(
They all talk about their sq/ft but not sure what that really means. We have extenders within 40' of the router but no luck. I need to reach out to at least 150'. One of the TP-Link worked to that range for awhile then stopped. I took our newest one and it's now working at 150' at 2.4G but the damn thing won't work properly at 50' for some reason.
Anyone have any recommendations on decent WiFi extenders? We need 2.4G and 5.6G capabilities.

Since retiring I have fallen so far behind in the latest greatest of stuff in the IT world.
I can say I bought this ASUS Mesh router in 2022. It still works great and I get further than 150' without an extender.

Thanks Doc.
The 3.5 stars is giving me a little concern.
The AI generated answer from the reviews states:
Customers find the router easy to set up and appreciate its speed, with one mentioning it's up and running within 10 minutes. The coverage is excellent, with one customer noting it works well for security cameras, and the mesh system performs well. However, the functionality and connectivity receive mixed feedback - while some report flawless performance, others experience unreliable operation and random disconnections. Moreover, customers disagree on the signal strength, with some reporting strong signals while others struggle with weak connections. Additionally, stability is a concern, with customers reporting random reboots and system crashes.

I have eero 6+ units around the house and 1 unit is out at the pool house. Bought from Amazon.

The pool house is 75' from the house. I can get a usable signal at my workshop which is 150 from the house to the workshop. The eero 6+ units are "mesh" and 5ghz and 2.4ghz but require that all of them be the same model to have the fastest speeds.

We have no issues, works flawlessly, and what is good for me, they are pretty much idiot proof.

I should note they probably have 2 or 3 newer generations of eero units than my model 6+ units.

Same here. I have 3 units hardwired throughout the house and they have operated flawlessly. I have 500 mbps internet service and I just ran a speed test: 541 mbps down and 306 mbps up using wifi on my laptop.

It's expensive but Ubiquiti U6 mesh is what we use at the fire house with a poe switch, we have the building surrounded with 4 and 4 U7 lite inside

Ended up buying this one.

NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 7 Router (BE9300) – Router Only, 9.3Gbps Wireless Speed, 2.5 Gigabit Internet Port, Tri-Band for Gaming, Covers 2,500 sq. ft., 100 Devices, VPN

Just installed it a couple hours ago.
Good news is that I can plug my old routers into it so I don't have to reconfigure printers and such. They'll just use the old router IP and keep going.

I've found internet speeds vary greatly depending on device.
My daughter is getting 750Mbps on her cell phone. WOW
My old computer is getting 50Mbps.
My shop computer (long distance) is getting 10Mbps. :( Not fast but at least I have a decent connection without using extenders.
