What's for Dinner Tonight?

I've got a lot of roadrunners around here!!
I watched "Coyote vs Acme" last night. I give it three out of five stars. It wasn't bad... but it could have been written a little more edgy? It was way too PG, should've been more PG-13.

I've been dieting. My weight got back up to 206#, mainly due to arthritis pain and statin induced pain, that has been plaguing me for 2 years, leading me to a much more inactive lifestyle. Figured out the Statins were causing pain a few months ago. Statin pain and arthritis pain generate very similar and overlapping symptoms. So we were treating a known problem (rheumatoid arthritis) and totally missed an unknown problem. Figured it out and my life really changed.

July 28, 206#. Two months and a few days later, I'm 188#, so almost 20# down. 9# per month. Looking to go down to 175#, but when I was 24 and got married I was 168, so maybe I'll shoot all the way for 168#? The lovely Mrs_Bob thinks I look skinny at 175. As I'm not in constant pain, 1.5 to 2 mile intentionally fast paced walks every day too. Plus, since pain is gone, I'm far more active coaching.

Anyway, dinner yesterday was about 4pm because I had to go teach 2 fencing classes. 5pm youth Epee and then Adult Epee from 6:30-8:30pm. I had a stir fry of vegetables with turkey sausage: Roughly 300 calories. Portion size was about a 'cup'

1# Turkey Sausage
1 bulb of Fennel
1/2 head of cabbage
1 onion
4 sweet peppers
Celery
Konjac 'noodles'

Stir fried without oil. So I browned the turkey sausage to get whatever fat was in it to coat the pan before adding the veggies. Then simmered it until the veggies were soft enough. Seasoned it with some Indian spices (curry mix) and it made about 5 servings.

During my 15 minute break between the two classes I had a semi-healthy Raspberry/Fig Bar. 200 calories.

That meal pretty much describes most of my dinners. More often than not my flavor profile is not Indian, it is more commonly Chinese or Korean spiced. Lots of cabbage, boc choi, peppers (both sweet and hot).

Lots of "Fermented" foods instead of "pickled" foods. Harder to find in the stores, usually only in the refrigerator section. Kimchi, cabbage, pickles, flavored sauerkrauts are the most easily found fermented foods. I highly recommend Grillo's Pickle Spears as a snack.

Typically I consume under 1500 calories. Typically I have a 500-900 active calorie burn surplus.

I track a series of body metrics using an Apple Watch, a Withings scale and a Hume Band2.0. There are more, but these are some highlights:

Lean muscle is maintaining.
Visceral fat is steady and moderately low
Overall fat % is dropping
Subcutaneous fat is dropping
Skeletal Mass is slightly increasing
Body water % is increasing
Basal metabolic rate is dropping
Metabolic age has dropped
Body cell mass is dropping
VO2 is increasing
Resting heart rate is dropping
Walking heart rate is dropping
Blood pressure is slightly elevated (normal for me) but also slightly lower
Blood sugar is down below "pre-diabetes" levels
