no i decided against a porsche swap due to ease of maintenance and repairs and part’s availability , i built a 2180 8.5-1 with an nos german spg roller crank, norris cam 1300-5000 power band/ ported heads, stainless valves/ titanium retainers, : ratio rockers/ doghouse cooler full flow w remote filter w single zenith 32ndix w heated manifold should run pretty strong / no china parts all og german stuff

This filter was stock in all but the earliest Snow-Tracs from what I can find. I've had two people comment on it at shows. one said it was a WW2/ just after filter and the other said it was Porsche industrial. But I can find it listed in all the parts manuals with the same PN. It's a turd to clean and not really efficient, to so I don't think Westeråsmaskiner would have used it in their ag equipment. So, where did it come from? Not really thinking they had a warehouse of NOS WW2 airfilters handy.

im thinking porsche industrial, i have never seen the big mushroom on any other early vw/ porsche, my snow trac came with the smaller mushroom that fits pre a porsche 32pbic and vw solex carbs, funny part is the big mushroom in my earlier pics has a reducer sleeve shoved in it to fit a vw carb/ the original bore is perfect for the big zenith 32ndix , as far as cleaning ill run it dry/ no dust in the snow mostly to keep foreign objects out

the one feature that is unique to this filter is it is offset, all the other mushroom filters have the outlet in the center.
