I'm giving my truck a well overdue cleaning today. Outside washed and waxed.
Got to the inside for cleaning and pulled all the contents out. WTF??? I guess I've been tossing "stuff" in the back seat (it's a crew cab) for a long time. Why do I have 20 ratchet straps there? A puke bucket from when my kids were young? Logging chains (pretty sure that weight will ruin your gas mileage). I have under seat storage and will keep things there but now, ta dum! People can fit in the back seat and put their feet on the floor and not on whatever crap was there. :)

I hate it as well, with kids and farm stuff and my own stuff everything just ends up back there. I was joking with my kids one day and I said I needed a 6 door truck, then about a month or two later we seen one go by, didn't know they existed, or it was custom made, only time I've ever seen one.

My truck is a nest about half the time.

Ratchet straps on the floorboards, but they get used weekly. Stuff I leave in there for when I go to Houston. A pair of gum boots, a rolled up sleeping blanket, new tarp in the package, little toolbox, a hammer, etc etc.

Im not taking all that out.

No garbage or dirty clothes or mud clods or weeds.

My truck is a single cab F250, so not much room for junk. I have a flatbed with two large tool boxes. That's where I stow the tow straps, (neatly rolled up) tire chains, a jack, extra oil, antifreeze, tools, jumper cables, air compressor etc. All kept clean and tidy. My truck is a ranch truck, but that doesn't mean that it should be crapped up with junk.

I currently have Chevy suburban that should seat 6 but today it seats 1 1/2 with all my tools for the projects in there and some I haven't gotten back it the shed or their normal storage place. I have to clean it out next week before we go to Kettle Creek Music Fest so it could seat 4 at that point. :D

I just remembered......... I should go clean out my old red VW microbus. We loaded it with a half-a-ton of garbage and took shovels and rakes and implements of destruction and headed on down to the city dump back in 1967. Well, we got there and there was a sign and a chain across the dump sayin' "Closed On Thanksgiving"......................

:(

I expect to see 27 8x10 color glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one.
But you can get anything you want at Alice's restaurant. :)

For those that are confused, Don & I are talking about a classic tune by Arlow Guthrie called "Alice's Restaurant".
Funny tune.

I need to clean out the back of my truck today. It's loaded down with feed sacks and 125 pound tubs of Vitalix for the livestock, plus a lot of miscellaneous things. I always roll up the tie down straps and stow them in the under bed tool boxes.

Several years ago, I found a vacuum packed bag of smoked turkey breast under the seat of my truck. A friend had bought it and it obviously fell out of her shopping bag while I was taking her home and slid under the seat. About a year before I found it.

I remembered she told me she lost it, she though maybe it didnt get bagged up at the store. It was expensive and she made a big hoo-hah about it.

I didnt tell her I found it. It was delicious and I ate on it for several days.

We aren't messy or lazy people, we are preppers! Never know when you will need to McGiver something from the one stray glove, the part roll of duct tape and and empty Tupperware container with no lid (it's in another vehicle). I'll never be caught unprepared 😂
