My wife and I spent last week on a road trip to check this Ark Experience in Kentucky out. We enjoyed and can say it was worth our time.
Surprisingly there were a lot of Amish families there last week on the two days we were there. Also took the time to visit a couple in Winchester Ky. who are my first cousins and are like all of us getting older every day. Great to see them for a day.

Has anyone else been there? I would be interested to know your thoughts.

I saw pictures of it the other day from a friend who just went there. She said it was amazing! I'd like to go see it some day.

I'd have bought you breakfast if I knew your coming.

Wife & I went a few years ago. Very nice place! We went off-season so there was nobody there which was nice.
While there, I saw an exhibit with an old Bible. I thought, hmm, I have a better Bible to fit there. Mine is a 1562 Gutenberg Lutheran Bible with lots of color pictures (lithographs?), including one of the Ark.

I asked to speak with the Curator of the museum to discuss. He met with me. He loved the idea but said the place is pretty much run by a family/group that makes the decisions so we left it there.

Being as this Bible has been in my family for the last 460 years, I thought it best to check with family before donating. They thought it was an awesome idea. Better to be in a museum in controlled environment with proper care as opposed to sitting on my office shelf. I just need to follow-up and get it done. I looked online today and it appears the book is worth quite a bit (somewhere in the 5-figures). I still would rather donate as opposed to sell.

The Ark Encounter looks like a fascinating Kentucky attraction, especially for visitors interested in history, culture and unique experiences.
