Snow-Trac Variator Shaft Gear Ratio

Does anyone know what the gear ratio is for the variator shafts? I mean the pinion gears on each axle that divert the rotation upwards, where I made the yellow circles.

I believe it’s 1:1, but I don’t believe I ever knew it and can’t find any pics of the gears when I had it apart. Even just an accurate count of the teeth is all I need.

I ask because I plan to mount speed sensors to the variator sheaves and I need to know if I need to put another ratio into the calculation.

I don't have the tooth count, I loaned my manual to a friend.
But I can confirm it is 1:1 for sure.

through the final drive chains with stock sprockets, it is 11 tooth driving a 32 tooth gear, or very close to 3:1

Please fallow up with what sounds like a very interesting project. I like seeing new tech being blended with the old.

These photos are the closest I have to showing the bevel gears, maybe you can approximate the number of teeth by counting half the circumference?

I sure wish I had the manuals handy. A friend just bought a couple of Snow Tracs and I lent it to him for the weekend.
If memory serves me well, it might list the number of teeth on each gear.
looking at your pictures tells me it is close, but not sure I am seeing all I need to be sure.

Six nuts the whole upper bit lifts off.

I might have a mid 60's variator apart in the barn.

Ill be home tomorrow
