Rolling white rock driveways

Our new house is nearing completion. Our driveway is a mess. Garbage truck, a heavy service truck and power company line truck have all been stuck here so far. I had to do what I don't want and rock the drives just as winter is getting here. I have a Volvo DD25 vibratory roller rented for tomorrow hoping to anchor the rock in the drive so when we plow snow it isn't going to end up in the yard.
Some places are deep with rock that is where the transition to cement drives is. I am sure it will settle greatly in those spots. I have additional rock here for fill in those areas.

Having no experience with a roller is there anything I need to understand?

Do we have any members here who have experience doing this?

Pretty straight forward, go forwards then backwards. Don’t leave the vibrator going when you stop moving otherwise it will leave make a bit of a dip because the drum will vibrate it’s way into the ground. I rolled a packer one time so take my advice for what it’s worth 😂

Is there a way to leave a crown in the middle? Not much, just enough to help with drainage.
As left by the end gate on the dump truck the rock is thicker in the middle to a degree. With somewhat moist ground conditions I was
thinking it would squeeze rock to the outside but may leave a slight crown.

Put some weights to one side on the frame of the roller where you want the gravel to be lower. Run down oneside of the gravel drive and up the other. It will squeeze the gravel a bit to the middle.
The vibrator will assist.

You may get a "hump" in the middle. Just run over it one more time down the middle without weight.

Would be hard to get an actual crown on the lane, I looked it up an it’s almost 5 feet wide so without running off the gravel it’s going to be either overlapping a little or be close to it depending on the width of your lane. It sounds like it’s wet there and they don’t work well when it’s wet as the drum can pack up with mud. Also if the spots are still soft where you were getting stuck, the more you go over it the softer and mushier it will get. If you can run off the shoulder a little you can pack the outer edges with the vibrator going then shut it off for the pass down the center as it won’t pack as much.

I have been cutting in and maintaining my driveways both at home and on the mountain, I haven’t involved gravel yet.
What I know about it is, you have to remove all the ruts and dips first, before putting the gravel in or it will come out of the dips when you drive on it, like punching a bowl of dry cereal with your fist. Then you will have a new lumpy gravel driveway in short order.

Are y'all putting road cloth down first? I do and have no problems with imperfections. Once compacted (not using a roller, just years of driving on it), I have full tri-axle loads of stone products drive on my driveway and they don't sink at all.

Preexisting drives. So, no cloth.
Looks great too!
