Recent increase in email forgery

Have y'all noticed a surge in fake emails lately? Some of the ones I get really make me angry - that have the names of my deceased friends and family members. I really don't want to receive fake emails at all but the ones that show up in my inbox from my dead brother really take the cake. :furious:

When I place the cursor over one of these names, it shows some oddball address usually from a university in another country.
Etc., etc., etc. Sometimes I even get emails from myself! And other people get emails that they think are coming from me. :mad: Even when I block the address, the emails keep coming and increase by the day. Are y'all being harassed with these things? What did you do?

make a rule to move them to spam, it depends on what email program your using how you do it.

It's likely your email address and your service. :(
People never realize how they 'pay' for the 'free email' service they use...
It's obvious. They only way they can get paid is to sell your email address, to as many people as they can.
I have kept my legacy email address since the early 90's.
I won't hesitate to say, when was the last time you saw one that ended in @mindspring.com? 😁
They were bought out by EarthLink decades ago, and no longer exist.
If your email ends in @gmail.com , you are gonna need a big bucket!! :oops:

You're exactly right on the money there. (But they've always said 'Google is your friend!')
I had 'Angelfire' email years ago - and then 'Lycos' and didn't have trouble like this. Yep, a real big bucket 'cause I'm about to bail out.
