All mapped out.
It's going to be about 3100 miles and probably close to 60 hours of travel time as we'll be on back roads and in parks.
Not counting hotels, we have over 40 different places (parks, monuments, museums...) we're going to visit.

Southern Utah is so beautiful. So much to see. If going there you might want to extend your trip by a couple weeks. Good luck.

We've been through southern Utah a few times in the past and agreed, it's beautiful.
Our last trip, we got snowed out so we couldn't get to Bryce or Grand Staircase so that's on our list.
The rest of the family hasn't been to Arches or Moab so we'll be hitting that as well.

Just got back. 10 days, 3000 miles, 5 States.
A few changes were made. Some museums in particular were closed so we didn't see those.
We added W. Texas to the route.
Added some places like the Grand Canyon.

Here's some of the places we visited. We did more after this pic was taken.

Welcome back.
What was your favorite, or what would you go back to again?
I love Arches, Canyon land and Dead Horse Canyon and all the stuff in that area. Moab was fun.
I also love Zion, but to me Arches was a bit better.

Hmmm. Several of these were repeats for me so I didn't feel the "wow" factor as if seeing them for the first time.

I haven't been at Canyonlands before. Found that to be a real hidden jewel.

On this trip, I was a bit disappointed with Zion. In the past, we drove through all of it in our own vehicle, at our pace. Now, most of the park is accessible only by park shuttle busses. The park was packed with people so it was probably a mile of walking just from finding a parking spot to get to a shuttle.

The native ruins were MUCH more expansive than what I was expecting and very impressive. Most have seen pics of Mesa Verde like the one below. What I didn't know is what's in this pic is one of many such structures of similar size in the same area/park. We visited several sites with these type ruins. In some of the parks, you can actually go climb into the ruins.

That’s what I’m talking about

After the old truck I’m working on is done, very soon, I plan to buy a new travel trailer to pull and in the fall hit the road to some very similar destinations. Looks to be a great trip you had.

When we were in the Zion area we rented a Polaris and drove it over all the sand and hills. We were lost for a bit, but finally found our way out. They did have GPS in each side by side and we could call them to come get us if needed. Thankfully that was not needed. So much fun. It was my favorite thing to do in Zion.
