Navy Removes 'Anti-American' Books From Sailors' Reading List​

Several controversial books deemed to be "anti-American" or "Marxist" were removed from the U.S. Navy's recommended reading list.

I was in the navy decades ago. I never realized they had a 'recommended reading list'.
Shocked those books were on the recommended list to start with.

2019 it got updated....

When I was attached to the Navy we never got hold of anything worth reading in the mess outside of the shared (literary) magazines.

As I understand it, the term "recommended reading list does not ban consumption of any literature. It simple recommends and stocks libraries with approved books,,, and,, uh,,, Magazines.

That said, I was not in the US Navy so, I only have comments from my son, who was, to go on.
