LOWES closing 1700 locations for 24 hours

Speaking of Lowe's, their mulch is 1/2 off. $2 per bag. Sale says it ends 4/16 but I saw it go longer last year due to how much they had.
If you're thinking of it, a short bed pickup holds about 28 bags without going too far over the rails.
I bought 3 or 4 truckloads last year and had about 20 bags left over. Covered it with clear plastic and it held up nicely (didn't lose color or anything). I spread those out yesterday but could use another truckload.

Good to know. Thanks
I am also pleased they are closing on Easter so their members can be with family.
Most of my Home Improvement shopping is at Lowes.
Home Depot has better lumber. At least here in this town.
.

We had a lowes here for a few years. I actually preferred it to home depot. It closed only about 3-4 years after opening.
We have Multiple locations of Home Depot, Lowes and Menards super-hardware stores scattered about the area. All are north, northeast or northwest of me. I think Home Depot has the most locations. Perhaps Menards the 2nd most number of locations. Lowes the least.

Generally I think Lowes carries the highest end fixtures. Home Depot the middle level. Menards the lower end products. There is plenty of overlap in their goods. The stores are often 'clustered' so a HomeDepot may be across the street or down the block from a Lowes which may be another 1/2 mile away from a Mendards.

I'm just happy that Lowe's is taking a stand on holiday closures.

It is good for families to be together for holidays.

I agree, Menards is generally lower end products but usually twice as many varieties from which to choose.

The treated lumber at Home Depot matches the color of Cedar. So, my cedar fence has some Home Depot in their structures.

One good point about Menards is their treated lumber. Theirs is the only treated lumber, of the three, which can actually survive ground contact. Also, their 5/4 decking is actually one and one quarter inch thick. Home Depot and Lowes is only 1.0" thick. So, for fences and wood decks, any time I am putting wood into or on the ground, I only go to Menards.

Stopped at Lowe's today and brought home 28 bags. They're wet and heavy.
There was an employee there to help load. I could tell the guy was physically beat. I helped load the customer in front of me (a full trailer load) then since there was nobody behind me, I told him to take a break as I was in no hurry.
Started loading my truck and then noticed that what's left on the pallet looks like the exact amount I need and I said "I wish you had a fork truck around here, we could have just slid the whole pallet in my truck". He pointed. There was a fork truck 100' away. Too late since we already loaded too much to fit the pallet in behind it.
We took another break or 2 and chatted while putting the remaining bags in my truck.
