I'd speculate that CNN is not denying it because the denial would give more publicity to the original Veritas video. Currently, not many people are AWARE of the video, and CNN wants to keep it that way ?

CNN is probably not denying it because they can't. Several of their news hosts have openly advocated for specific liberal candidates and specific liberal positions on the air, they have been practicing advocate journalism for years, pushing their narrative. They ignore or silence opposition and are well known for not reporting on topics that don't fit their storyline.
