While the UK, the EU and the US have "appeased" Iran over the past 40-50 years, allowing Iran to bully its neighbors and fund terrorist groups like the Houthi, Hezbollah and the Palestinians in Gaza, the time of reckoning seems to be now as President Trump is doing what others have failed to do.
Now I understand many may disagree with the strategy employed by Trump. But the reality is that, during the last 40+ years, the mullahs in Iran have been treated with more respect than they deserve, and the EU and UK, which depend on the oil flowing through the Strait of Hormuz have done NOTHING. The mid-East oil producing nations are also to blame. Why is there no pipeline from the E.A.U. to the ports in Israel or Lebanon? Why is there near total reliance from the middle East oil producers, and the EU and UK consumers, on traffic flowing through the Straight of Hormuz?
The WORLD has had 40+ year to find alternatives but they relied on the US Navy to keep the oil flowing.
Understand that the USA is an OIL EXPORTER, we are also an LNG exporter, and we are self sufficient in energy production. The UK and the EU theoretically can produce MOST of their energy needs by pumping oil from the North Sea, and from the waters off of the UK, but they chose to close their production and relied on RUSSIA and the Middle East to supply them with energy.
