I am changing my position on illegal immigration

I am beginning to change my mind on illegal immigration; and I think it's time to admit it.

The US needs people that are hungry for freedom. People who appreciate the freedoms we have. Who better than those who have lived under the boot of socialism and want a piece of what we have? Why not give the prize to someone who can appreciate it? It is obvious that the vast majority of Americans don't.

And, believe this -- they are more conservative than most Republicans. These poor people have lived under the yoke of socialism. Until recently they were as free and rich as we were. The last few years some of them are dying because they can't get medicines. They go hungry and eat their pets, when just a decade ago they were fat and happy. These poor people have actually experienced both sides of the coin ... capitalism vs. communism. When the democrats get them all set up to vote ... how do you think they are going to vote? For the SAME systems they just ran from?
I don't think so.

Stop the drugs.
Stop the human trafficking.
Stop the thugs.

Let the other 99% through.

I see your point, but...
What percentage of those that migrate to a new location bring their "stuff" from home? I'll use the analogy of people leaving CA for better areas but they unfortunately bring their political and other views with them. Colorado, Vermont and some places (like Austin, TX) have been conservative for decades. The leftists move there and bring their views with them.

That's a good question.
And, we will find out, for sure.

But, I have had the opportunity to talk to people who are illegal, and been here a few months. One guy from Argentina, and used to own his own trucking company. Was wealthy (he said) and 'the communists took it all away.' He sold his and his wifes wedding bands to get enough money to make the trip without owing any of the cartels.

He looked to be about 40 - was probably 30. Has a ten and twelve year old, in school for the first time in four years. He's actually paying for a tutor to get them caught up. Has a 'nice house' rented in a neighboring small town. Insists that the kids play a sport in school so they can 'learn to be an American'. He wants to integrate.

This guy started his own lawn care company here in N. California. He purchased a truck that the company I work for was selling. I talked with him for quite a while and he seemed willing to do so.
He's just one, granted, but he does NOT like Biden, Pelosi, AOC ... he told me "I know their type. I don't trust them. Socialistas." He almost spat that last word out.

When he left I shook his hand, and truthfully wished him luck.

I used to think that way. I was raised up in Texas and Oklahoma. All of the illegals we saw were very hard working people. I even once got a job where I was the only person working there not an illegal. That was years ago and one of my jobs was to start running whenever the law came around. While they were chasing me the others had a chance to hide.
In the last few years I have seen a different type of illegals. These are not wanting to work. They want to come to the U.S. and let the government take care of them and their family. They want everyone to speak Mexican. They are even waving the flags of other countries and demanding we salute them. Things have changed. And not for the better.

Thats great but $100.00 against a hole in a donut, says his business is illegal with no license or insurance. Being a general contractor in Ca. Folks like that are why my insurance cost so much.

Guaranteed.
And I don't blame him a bit.
He's going to support himself and his family with his own work.
He's not selling drugs, or stealing cars.
He is doing work that I don't wanna do.

Believe it or not, I have done illegal things to make money because if I didn't I would go hungry.

California taxes too much.
I respect his lack of respect for government.
Our population wants anarchy ... so, it goes both ways.

I predict that within a couple of years he will BE legal. License, insurance, a federal tax ID number.
Why?
Because he will have accumulated enough, and put down roots enough to be a PART of something; and he won't want to lose it. And he will come to realize that he has to get legal. And he will.

I wish him good luck.

If you support illegal businesses undercutting legitimate businesses, with no liability or workmanship comp. insurance. you are part of the problem. So I hope its you that gets a tree dropped on your house by him or someone like him, or one of his illegal workers gets hurt and sew's you because he has no insurance. You claim to be conservative but you say things most libs say. I guarantee he will not license the truck he bought from you or get insurance. I hope you didn't get the release of liability and when he wrecks the truck drunk, you can also be financially responsible for your new buddy.

Illegals are EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY racist. I l know because I lived in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas for a total of 30 years. The legal ones are fine but the others are vicious criminals.

I don't 'support' any such thing.
I understand his plight. He can respect our laws, and starve. Or he can do what he has to do.
And in his shoes, I hope I'd have the guts to do the same.
I wouldn't wait for any government to save me, and I wouldn't watch my kids go hungry.

He doesn't work for the company I work for. We require licenses and proof of insurance before we can take on a vendor. We are closely regulated and watched by several government agencies; our security systems are audited regularly.
And, yes I sent DMV a notice of sale with the id info he gave me as required by law.

First of all he came here illegally and everything he has been doing is also illegal. Those people work under the table and don't pay taxes, that allows them to under cut business complying with the law. He likely has his wife and family on welfare as well. Its a game they play where the wife don't know who the dad is and the taxpayer pays for there life. Free, housing, healthcare, food and education. I hate people like you, you think he will ever do anything legal in his entire life here or just use the system to pay for everything while he sends his money back home. I hope it comes back to bite you in the ass in spades.

From a guy who has competed for decades against the wages of Sanctuary City based competitors, I'm telling you that it is wrong on so many levels.
In many cases the illegals live in garages and sleep on pallet racks. They pay a fee out of their pay to have a job and, it is barely above slave labor. Not making this up. I've actually seen this and had people tell me to do it or go out of business.

I won't.

And...

so....
We are soon going out of business.

Illegals may or may not all be crooks. There are good people in the group whose only crime is being caught as part of a system that undercuts honest operators of free enterprise.

What I want to know about is the 2.5 million that have crossed the southern border in the last two years under O'Biden. They have to be housed and fed. Legally, they cannot work for a living. So .... Who is paying the bill?

And thats why Uberbastards, new friend is doing an illegal landscaping business, so he can double dip the system. Here in Ca. generally they dont assimilate for a couple generations. They never do anything right, they gave them drivers licenses here because the argument was how can they get insurance without a license, they still don't buy insurance. Every time he does a job he is taking the food from the mouth of a legitimate business ( that are paying for his family welfare ) all the while driving the costs up for folks that do it the right way. No one and defend that with a straight face. Not to mention a great majority of them are in drug trafficking. Most of them are fighting age men, why don't they fight for there own country, instead of helping to ruin ours.

If you're willing to wish someone physical or financial harm because of their political views when you can't spell a three-letter word like sue, then YOU'RE part of the problem.

I've known plenty of illegals (some who would go on to become legal, some who wouldn't). None of them have ever seemed racist or like they were criminals.

Maybe, instead of blaming the immigrants for not having insurance, we should take a look at the system that denies them that...
You are talking about two different kinds of people. An immigrant is a person who came to this country legally. They can get insurance just like everyone else. The other kind of people you are mistaken in calling immigrants are actually illegals. They are criminals. They cannot get license or insurance because they are in this country illegally.

An illegal alien tried to DELIBERATELY run me over in a grocery store parking lot once. Every other illegal in that parking lot turned his head, like they didn't see anything. If that vicious bigot MURDERED me, no one would have seen a thing.

I was in Griffith Park in Los Angeles once in 1971. An illegal alien said, "This used to be our land and we are taking it back." That's not the only time I heard one of those criminals say that. Don't let the proven liars in the lying news medias that always lie tell you illegals are nice people.

750,000 people a year die from illegal drugs. Illegals bring a LOT of those drugs into our country. A LOT of people are victims of human trafficking instigated by Illegals. A LOT of people are murdered by illegal aliens. There is a high percentage of Illegals in our prisons. Don't believe the liars in the mainstream media and spread their propaganda.

A lot of those also come from non-immigrants.

Give me stats to prove it. Do some real research from a reliable source, and maybe I'll be inclined to believe you.

Venezuelans, Hondurans......I don't know about them

I just know about one illegal alien
From Mexico

Wrote about him awhile back;

Alien
When I hear that word my mind goes to some unhuman being
From another planet
Put ‘illegal’ in front of that and the subconscious considers a direct threat
From outer space

There’s plenty of propaganda in the media today
It’s up to us to determine the ore from the dross

I have a short personal story
It’s not propaganda
It’s not atypical
It’s as real as any true American story could be

I ask all active in this thread to read this story
Those who have me on ignore…please continue to remain ignorant

An illegal alien
From Acapulco, the seamy side
Was wunna those kids treading water for tourists to toss coins from yachts
At sixteen he hooked up with coyotes to get into the US
Learned how to get along here, the hard way…work, all hours
Deported three times while learning
Came back over, three times, walking the desert at night
Slept where no one cares to be
Worked fields like none other
Wanted to be a ‘landcaseper’
Did OK at it, but didn’t put enough food on the table of his ambition
Became a roofer’s helper
A roofer
A framer
A finish carpenter
Took no hand outs
Paid his way
Now has his own business

I just sent a notarized letter to a dept here in Oregon, telling them why he should remain here while he studies to become a citizen

His son, my grandson;
Graduated The Oregon National Guard Youth Challenge Program (OYCP)
With honors
I had the privilege of being his mentor

And those like him, and his dad
They may be in the thousands
All the more reason

This is our nation
Nations will come and go
Historically, those choosing exclusivism go sooner than others

Update
My grandson just did a three year stint in the army

Right now he's security, on a quick response team
Did some clean up at the Bend OR grocery store shooting

If more illegals would do as this young man did there would not be a problem. He is not an example of the people crossing our borders today. I have known and still know some illegals. Some are good people and I would invite them to my own home. Some I would shoot on sight if they ever came near my home. There used to be many of the first bunch and few of the latter. That all changed a few years ago.

Look it up youself because NOTHING I say will change your mind because I don't have access to your "programming". Think for yourself.
Again, provide me with some solid sources. I will admit if I'm wrong.

Your response tells me that either you're too lazy to do research, you never have done the research, or you tried to research, and never found anything to support your agenda.

Oh, and I don't have "programming". I don't watch the news. I don't have cable. Don't really watch TV, as I'm a busy guy. Don't get your feathers all ruffled, sweetcheeks.
