It makes a lot of sense if you're just towing your 5th wheel around. At some point you have to park and live in the damned thing at a park or wherever. Then you have to use the semi to do all your running around. That's a freekin' nightmare. The only rig like that I've seen that made sense had a platform behind the cab that carried a small car like a Smart Car for shopping and exploring. I have seen some that had a garage at the back of the 5th wheel but that takes 10 or 12 feet off your living space.

Toy hauler trailer. The Samurai rides in back. Once the toy is out, the garage becomes the wife’s office for remote working.

Otherwise the footprint of the truck is only 14” longer than a crew cab dually.
