I'm running #6 wire for a 220 circuit for the welder I picked up from Bob.
Told the guy at the electrical store that I needed wire for a 50 amp circuit about 30' from the box.
Also bought the 220 outlet and 50 amp breaker.
As you see in the pic I have a very empty breaker box. Just 4 outlets on one circuit and 3 overhead lights on the other.
I've always read / heard use white for ground. And as you see in the box that is how it was wired by the electrician who put in my service.
But the #6 wire I have only has 3 wires. One black, one white and one bare wire.
I know the bare wire has to be ground, and I told the guy what I was doing but I'm questioning if I have the right wire.
