DMC 1450 Parking Brake Setup

Something about my parking brake setup just doesn’t seem right. I am trying to put it back together after it being apart for two years. The illustration in the manual is very faded and I can’t quite see it clearly. Can anyone tell me what is wrong here or even post up pictures of your setup? It’s the silver wedges behind the handle that seem incorrect.

Thanks BearGap. It doesn’t appear that yours have the wedges behind it. Maybe they don’t belong there then. Any idea where they went?

I’m not sure. It looks like your cab has a lot more structure than mine. Is that a roll cage? I wonder if it’s factory...
I’m a relative newcomer to all this stuff. I just had the good luck/misfortune of buying #1415 that had a very tough life. It’s like I adopted a stray cat with a really bad carfax report...

Figured it must be a spacer to push the brake handle away from the “roll cage”. If I remove it, I can’t get my hand around the handle. Duh!
