Did a 1404 have a hydraulics mine has a pump driven by the fan belts hydraulic front blade and auxiliary hydraulics on the back and some handles that run the hydraulics? Is this a factory option or did somebody added?

That's a good question...I don't know.
My Imp also has hydraulics for the blade, and four ports in the back mounted to the face of the cab. Rectangular oil tank sits against the back of the cab between the seats with controls in front of the tank.

Valley engineered attachments are common accessories found on thiokol products. I have seen a fair amount of imps and early sprytes with belt driven small displacement pumps. The dmc and lmc versions seem to have more robust hydraulic systems with link belt and gear driven large displacement pumps.

In regards of the v4 powered imps, in my experience a v belt driven pump driven off of the camshaft/counterbalance shaft is common. (From the factory)
If the pump is driven off the fan its likely owner built system.

Cool. I havent looked at mine in a while, as to where the pump is driven from. I have a feeling mine is owner built considering the additional attachments to the rear for whatever grooming attachments may have been in use at some point.

Thanks for all the replies to my question
Got this from a farmer has been sitting for years. Now it my turn to get it running
Got the engine run with out to much work
But the rear drive is a mess broken ring gear torn apart, and left to rust in a barn
The last picture is after sitting in pail of vinegar for two days
I’m sure I’ll be back here asking more questions. Thanks a lot guys.

You have your work cut out for you on that abused C4. You can get bearings and seals and such pretty easily. R's and P's...not so easy
