According to the info given to me this is an absolute auction with no reserve prices on the following three Forest Service lease properties in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming:

http://www.thebighorn.com/index.html Big Horn Mountain Resorts link to the three listings below which are on the auction block.

The above is the main link which consists of three separate Forest Service lease properties which are listed below individually.

http://www.thebighorn.com/meadowlark/meadowlark.htm This is a mountain lake lodge with only one lodge lease on the lake. It has a restaurant, bar and many overnight accommodations. It is currently open for business and ready for a new owner.

http://www.thebighorn.com/deerhaven/deerhaven.htm This is a mountain lodge about 5 miles from the Meadowlark lake property. It will require the most work to get it operational as it is currently closed and needs some updated buildings and sewer system work.

http://www.thebighorn.com/bhskiresort/bhskiresort.htm This is your own ski mountain on FS lease with snow making equipment, grooming equipment, lifts and a new ski lodge for the ski mountain. It was open last winter and should be operational with little maintenance required. According to info the ski lodge was built a cost of about 2.5 million dollars five years ago.

http://www.thebighorn.com/wildernessranch/wildernessranch.htm This will have a minimum price and is on private property.

These properties have been under ownership of a single owner that was never able to actually manage or be able to hire the proper people to manage the properties. His interests were elsewhere. I believe he had way too many things going on with many other major business concerns such as jet manufacturing, publishing, and media operations elsewhere in the world that has broken his money roll. It does happen to those that go over their head and are not good people managers. He turned the resorts over to his children that had never worked and they did not tend to the business and only wanted to play.

If anyone on the forum wants to change their life and is interested they will need to contact the Big Horn Forest Service and become a qualified bidder to assume or take over the lease. I can supply some info as to a proper contact if anyone is interested.

For many years it was a dream of mine to have my own resort - I only got to manage them in a past life - always had to suck up to the corporate master.

Paul, you can now be the corporate master and enjoy the being sucked up to time....:yum:

Jan and I several years ago managed a fairly large mountain resort to allow our friends the owners to go back home, see relatives and attend a reunion. Resort management is hands on, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day work, There is no slack time to enjoy the environment around you. We decided once was enough. Now I will just work for Boggie and make his life miserable as some of the resort employees did to us....:yum:
