After reading Franc's review on his ebikes, it got me seriously looking at one for our daughter. She is going to be 19 next week but very young for her years and will probably never be able to get a full driver's license and will be living at home indefinitely. However, she can ride a bike and knows the rules of the road. We live in the country. She has a few places locally she goes to weekly that she can access using an ebike. We've pitched the idea to her over the winter and looked at a few different options for her. We were close to pulling the trigger on this one we found on amazon for a decent price. The reviews looked good.
Then we mentioned it to our friends that we were looking. They have an older motorino xpv scooter in great shape that they just installed new batteries last year. He's a mechanic and knows his automotive electrics and has gone through the thing. I saw it last summer when they had it out playing with it. THey offered to sell it to her for a good price. Doing some research on the motorino, I see they have been around for years. The bike chassis itself is a partnership between motorino and yamaha. So it should be a better quality scooter as it originally sold for approximately $3000. He has it in storage currently but it is similar to this without the luggage rack on the back and is red.
