Bombi SW48 gas tank replacement

Hi - I use my 1973 SW48 to plow my road, maybe a total of 100 - 200 miles a year. The gas tank is pretty rusty and filled with crap. I want to replace the tank, maybe with something smaller like a 6.5 gal plastic outboard tank that will be easy to swap out and keep the gas fresh. Does anybody have any thoughts if this will work on a Ford 250 CI straight 6 industrial? Any problems I should be aware of?

The gas tank on my 1971 skidozer was totally rusted out. I bought a marine plastic tank much like you mentioned (I think it was 12 or 13 gallons) and it seems to be fine for my Ford 250 CI six.
