Body prep, and interior for my rebuilt 1991 dodge first gen

Pulled it out today and washed it, took it for a ride and noticed wind whistle around my brand new window seals, WTF.
When I got back i compared the new I just installed and the old that I still had at the shop😩 the window strip kits include a couple different styles, I imagine that this kit also fits other trucks or other years so like carburetor kits, there is always parts for something else. I had installed the wrong rubber seal around the top and rear of the window and when it went up it wasn’t properly sealing. Door panels had to come off took a couple more hours of profanity, but it looks right now, tomorrow the tires and wheels show up by 11 am, so I’ll take it for another ride and see.

Almost forgot, this is the first thing I did this morning before I washed it, got the plug out of the bung for the EGT thermal couple, took 2 old 3/8 drive sockets and welded them together so I have a 3/8 square on both ends, then heated up the fitting with a propane torch really hot then melted some candle wax on the threads, works like penetrating oil but better and faster, came right out, then installed the thermal couple. I have to pick up some plastic color spray to match the interior plastic to paint the new A pillar pod gauge holder and finish the gauges installation.

There a a few mor improvements I’m going to make to it like, finish the gauge installation, turn the power up a little more and head studs, plus the tires and wheels. The thread was body work , paint and interior on this truck and that part is done. Fat lady is singing

Wheels and tires showed up and got them on, but still can’t drive it, ( there always has to be something ) they seat me a six lug wheel nut package instead of 8 lug, called customer service, they are on the way, the other thing I’ll take care of tomorrow, see the black center cap in the bottom picture, I’m going to chuck the 2 for the front in the lathe and put a 4ā€ hole in them so they fit over the front hubs and install them.

Plastic was too flimsy to chuck in the lathe, the hole needed to be 4-1/4ā€ so I screwed it to a piece of plywood with the mounting holes so I could clamp it in the drill press, used a 4ā€ hole saw and finished it with a Dremel with a flapper wheel, tomorrow I’ll paint the hub black and shine up the chrome part. Now just need the rest of the lug nuts.
