Does anyone remember reading the book, or seeing the film?
The Carpenters- of course.. did the soundtrack.
This was one of those films that touched me deeply as a kid.
We had to read the book in freshmen year HS (after the lit teacher/Sr. Mary Robert sent home notes for parental approval of course).. it stirred a little controversy back then.
It wasn't until '74-'75? that I saw the film for the first time on late night television.
I was hooked.
It's one of those things that just stays with you forever.
Sort of like the first time I read Lord Of The Flies..
